Potential legislation to regulate the SC hemp industry awaits the Senate Passage – live 5 news WCSC

Charleston, SC (WCSC), a Senate bill that will regulate the hemp industry in South Carolina, is now sitting in a committee with the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

If accepted, this will ensure that all businesses provide safe and consistent products for southern Carolini.

All hemp dealers will need to be licensed and any product of the store shelves in South Carolina will need to be tested through a certificate of analysis.

Those who support the bill said that the meaning of legislation is for consumers to know exactly what they accept when buying hemp -based products.

Coastal Green Wellness founder, a retail dispensary company, David Spang, explained that this legislation would take away some of the responsibility of consumers in the country.

“Currently, consumers need to navigate the market and make sure they find a reputable business and products providing products,” said Spang. “It takes a lot of this weight as they know now that in this license they have to go through certain steps for safety and testing, they know that every product they buy on the shelf in South Carolina have applied these safety steps, to which they apply. “

Spang said he was moving forward, everything was related to maintaining the inertia of this bill, and he is convinced that by the end of this session he will be voted.
