The sudden death of Jack Hayward Junior Melody Gilbert, who collapsed on Tuesday at the Ministry of Education, shocked teachers, students, education staff and the Union in Grand Bahama on Tuesday.
A team of psychologists and school advisers were sent to the campus of a junior high school after 50 -year -old Gi -Ja Gilbert died shortly after he was taken to the hospital.
Michel Bouthlet, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Education, said that G -Jia Gilbert, an English teacher in ninth grade, has just completed a presentation for the initiative of the directors at the Ministry when the incident happened.
“After the presentation, she was out and collapsed,” she recalls.
Bowleg said Jack Hayward Junior High students and teachers are visibly upset when they learned the news of the death of G -Jza Gilbert.
She said that the Ministry of Education immediately arranged a team of psychologists and school councilors from different schools to provide sessions for consultation with grief in the campus.
Belinda Wilson, President of the Bahamas Union of Teachers, expressed the sadness of the loss of a specialized teacher and a member of the Union.
“Today is a sad day in the education system in Grand Bahama County and, in general, the family of Jack Hayward Junior High School because of the sudden passage of Melody Gilbert, hardworking, dedicated teacher. She will surely be missed, “she said, still shaken by the news.
“On behalf of, but also Vice President Sean Ingraham, we express sympathy for her son and family.”
A statement issued by the school on his Facebook page described G -Ja Gilbert as a “brilliant star”.
“With heavy hearts, the star family shares the news about the sudden passage of one of our favorite teachers,” the message said. “She was a brilliant star in our community, and her warmth, kindness and commitment to their students made a lasting impact. We are all broken by this loss and will miss it dear. “
G -ja Gilbert was also related to the Bahams Girls Girls Association in Grand Bahama.
He came to Wilson, from the 4 guide for girls, remembered Gi Gilbert as a friendly man who always had no desire to cooperate in any way.
“It was a shock when I heard it yesterday; She was a very friendly, useful personality, very energetic and always doing something, “she said.
LATERKA STUBBS, a teacher at the school, said that G -Ja Gilbert was a “gem”.
“She was very friendly, good -natured, compassionate and useful,” she said. “Melody liked to teach and adore his students. First of all, she loved her family, especially her two sons, whom she was very proud of. “
There was a pouring of sadness and expressions of sympathy published on social media.
Genevieve Butterfield posted on the Facebook school page that G -Ja Gilbert left a lasting impression on his granddaughter.
