The household goods giant said sales of its recently launched range of hyaluronic acid lubricant condoms had enjoyed double-digit growth in the first nine months of the year so far.
Reckitt launched its first Durex condoms with hyaluronic acid lubricant in China in October 2022 and followed that up with another version in March this year.
It says the range is “extremely designed for the pleasure of both partners”, but is proving particularly popular with female customers.
It revealed that “women make up over a third of buyers of Durex hyaluronic acid condoms, more than any other condom”.
“The ingredient, well-known in beauty circles and among women, is valued for its moisturizing benefits,” the company adds.
The group said the latest industry market share figures show it is the market leader in hyaluronic acid lubricant condoms in China.
Reckitt said Durex helped drive “high single digit” sales growth for its intimate wellness products in the three months to 30 September.
Chris Licht, CEO of Reckitt, hailed the success of the “innovative startup” in China.
He said hyaluronic acid has a “moisturizing benefit that is of great interest to consumers.”
Durex was the first European manufacturer of latex condoms, launched in 1932.
