BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPRUD) — Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome introduced new affordable housing investments to the East Baton Rouge Metropolitan Council on Wednesday, October 23rd.
These developments, which include the introduction of 342 new affordable housing units, are proposed to be located throughout East Baton Rouge Parish, including in North Baton Rouge, South Baton Rouge, Mid City and Zachary.
The total investment in the project is $8,161,672, according to a news release.
“This investment brings the total number of affordable housing units that my administration has funded to nearly 1,800,” Broome said. “These seven new developments we’ve worked on over the past year are a vital step toward ensuring that every family in Baton Rouge has access to a safe, stable and affordable home.”

“The seven apartment complexes reflect a variety of housing types, from large multi-family complexes to single-family homes, as well as the renovation of historic sites such as the Lincoln Hotel and Prince Hall Masonic Temple on Northern Boulevard,” Broome said.
