Evgeny Jean Fremont Leach died at home on January 21, 2024.
Jean survived his wife Angela 65; sons, Alan (Ellen Mungia) Leach, Eric (Debra) Leach; daughter, Joan Leach (ReginalD Peoples, Senior); grandchildren, Brendan, Justin, Megan and Sean Leach; brought grandchildren, sarhan, jaculle and Reinald peoples, junior
He was preceded by death by his parents, Fremont and Bernis Leach and grandson Nicholas Branham Carner-Lich.
Jean was Bernis and Freemond Leach’s son and resides on a farm in Morrisonville, Illinois. He met with Angela at elementary school and they became cute in high school. Jean is a 1956 graduate vledican, where he and Angela are two of twenty -eight students. After high school, he went to the University of South Illinois and graduated from his bachelor’s and master’s degree in machine engineering at Illinois University. After college, he went to work at Tractor Company Caterpillar, in Peoria, Illinois, where he and his family reside. In 1993, Jean had the opportunity to transfer to Brentwood, Tennessee, and that was where they joined their second family in Brentwood, a United Methodist Church. GENE withdrew from Caterpillar Tractor Company after 40 years of service.
Jean was an avid classic car restorer, restoring several Ford Mustangs, a 1972 Chevy pickup and Ford Fairlane from 1958. It was also known to help his children with all their car needs. He was a 65-year-old member of the Masons, a member of the Scottish rite and Srinner. He was also an active member of the Battlefield Region AACA Automobile Club, the National Society of Aladdin Lamp Collectors, the Fairlane Club and the Nashville Rose Society. The Fairlane Club had a gaming article on the restoration of Gene of the Fairlane and the special meaning he owned as Angela’s first car.
Jean will be remembered as a loving husband, father and son. He was an avid reader, had a deep assessment of the US history and loved to travel. He crossed the country four times in their home, stopping in many historic places and looking for treasures in antique stores. He took his family to the Walt Disney world many times.
A holiday of life will be held at 12:00 on February 6, 2025 in the chapel at the United Methodist Church Brentwood United. The visit will be from 11:00 to 12:00 to the Narthex Chapel. Active thumbs are Brendan, Justin, Megan and Sean Leach. Honorary Packers are the Wesley Forum class at Sunday School.
