Wilmington – The Wilmington School Charter will be the first country as one of 50 schools in the country competing in the 15th annual Samsung Solve for the Tomorrow National STEM race.
With this achievement, the Charter located on North Dupont Road . He won a Samsung Technology awards package of $ 12,000, including the Samsung video set, to show their proposed Stem (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) solution.
Wilmington’s Charter is developing a solution to facilitate the medical crisis of a country where there is a shortage of doctors.
The team works to develop a hydrogel dressing to help overwork doctors and nurses to help deal with various injuries, which will save resources.
Samsung Solve for Tomorrow is a national competition designed to enable students from six to 12 grades to unleash the power of STEM to create innovative solutions aimed at critical problems in their local communities.
The competition puts students in active, practical training, which can be applied to real-world problems, which makes STEm more tangible and shows its value in and outside the classroom.
Multiple attempts to reach a school for comment on Tuesday and Wednesday were unsuccessful.
Praise for the Charter School in Wilmington
“We are excited and incredibly proud, though we are not surprised that a team of exclusive students from the Charter School in Wilmington is selected to represent Delaware at the prestigious Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Stem Competition,” says Kendall Massel, Executive Director of Delaware Network For charter schools.
This achievement, in her opinion, shows what charter schools are – satisfying individualized education based on the passions and interests of students.
“Not only does competition encourage innovative thinking, it also encourages students to take leadership roles, cooperate with their peers, and turn their ideas into impactful, real projects,” Massel said. “We celebrate this victory with the dedicated students and teachers who have supported the team during their trip.”
Despite the result of the competition, Massel said that this achievement reflects the incredible potential of Delaware’s students when he was given the opportunity to thrive through quality education.
