Lori Bayrand Awarded Peskosolido Professor of Food and Agricultural Law and Policy
Vermont Business Magazine Vermont law and graduation (VLGS) has announced its first name, called Professor, Professor in Food and Agricultural Law and Peskolido Policy. This five -year professor became possible by a generous bet and a gift from graduates of VLGS Pamela Pescosolido JD’90 and was awarded to Laurie Beyranevand JD’03, a graduate of VLGS and director of the School Center for Agricultural and Food Systems.
The Pescosolido family has deep roots in agriculture from all over the country of her mother that Blueberry Hill’s Farm owner of Massachusetts Berkshires since 1942, and her father helps her, along with her partners, a vertically integrated citrus business in California , which included cultivation, packaging and delivery.
“The ability to navigate agricultural law and policy is crucial to the future of this industry,” Peskosolido said. “Vermont law and graduation school can play a vital role in the training of lawyers and politicians who will lead the business related to AG in the future, and it is important for the school to continue to attract and retain the highest quality teachers who are experts in their fields S “
Beyranevand has been part of the VLGS faculty for more than a decade. It is known for its dedicated mentoring, innovative teaching methods and commitment to creating fair and simply food and agricultural systems and policies.
This donation is a significant step forward in support of the school’s commitment to achieve academic achievements in food and agriculture and politics and the development of innovative solutions to global problems.
“It is an honor for me that I was awarded this professor and I hope to honor the heritage of the strong agricultural heritage of the Peskosolido family,” Bayranda said. “I see this as a call for progress in the future of food and agricultural law and politics through strong education and training of future food leaders.”
