St. Paul Arsear Investigation

For SOE DOH, this is the worst time.

The East Side St. Paul, who started with his brother ten years ago, is now in ruins.

“Too much, you know,” he says. “It’s just a heartbreaking for me, because it’s a place, as I spend more time here than in my own home.”

On January 11, at 5:30 in the morning, St. Paul’s crews fired reacted to a huge blast in the store, which the brothers were called “SKD Auto Tek”.

Dennis Chisshall, who lives in the neighborhood, was awakened by the bark of his dog – and saw the flames.

“You can just see the flames pop up like three feet past the structure,” he recalls.

It will take sixty firefighters a few hours to put the flame under control.

Soe doh says he received an urgent call from a business friend, warning him of the fire.

“He says,” So your building was set on fire, “he recalls. “I thought he was joking.”

Later, checking a camera on the ring, the brothers found several images that transferred to investigators: two masked men, one wearing a red container, a video showing a 3:10 tomb brand.

One minute later another video shows that men leave empty-handed.

“They came in with a gas box; They came out without gas, ”says Soh Doh. “We saw this and said, Oh, man, someone did it.”

He says he now believes the fire was deliberately tuned.

St. Paul’s police say the case is now being investigated as arson.

Looking inside, you can see all the devastation.

Cars, computers, tools – all disappeared.

Soe doh says it will be very difficult to replace everything.

He says $ 50,000 insurance will help you pay for some items – but his loss, according to him, is much higher.

“For us, we build this business from the foundation,” he says. “We started with a bay in Little Canada. We know that there is a need for the community, the immigrant community and the refugees who come here who do not speak English. “

Soe doh has appreciated over the years, he has served hundreds of car -care immigrants.

He says he has also taught mechanical skills to many people and has helped others win their sales driver’s license, which allows them to drive trucks.

“He put drivers through school who came to work for him,” Chishold explains. “Some remained and found that they were unhappy, working for every place and returned.”

After everything that happened, Karen’s organization from Minnesota tries to help.

“We were really devastated to learn that this happened to his store and the insurance would not cover the full cost of damage,” says Alexis Walstad, the co -executive director of the group. “Many people who work in the store are from the Karen community, as well as many people who do commercial driving across the country.”

The organization-based at a role-based refugee and immigrant service center is making efforts to fund the crowd to help pay replacement and equipment tools lost in the fire.

The group celebrated SOE DOH’s work to help new jobs and training arrivals.

“From the very first day, their goal is to help the community here with both affordable car repairs and job opportunities,” notes Walstad. “For a long time, we have shown a lot of interest from community members in the work either in the auto repair or in commercial driving. Both are roads that can be really difficult to enter, especially for someone who does not speak English. “

A spokesman for St. Paul’s Fire Service says the building has already been convicted – and that the reason for the flame is being investigated by fire and law enforcement.

Meanwhile, soy Doh says he is determined to recover.

Chisholm says he hopes this will happen.

“Oh, yes, definitely. Good neighbor, good people, ”he exclaims. – you can choose a neighbor; He would be the one you want. “

“This is something I am proud to do and I will continue to do it,” CO adds.
