Favorite staple Winston-Salem will close his doors on February 1st.
Winston-Salem, NC Saturday, February 1st, is the last day in which the Winston-Salem staple will be opened, sweet potatoes.
Owners Stephanie Tyson and Vivian Waller had no idea of the impact they would have on the people of Winston-Salem when they opened their doors all these years.
For 22 years, the chef Tyson has been creating magic in the kitchen: “It’s not a soul meal … because we are southern, but it’s a food that is good for the soul.”
She and Gitter have said over the last two decades that they have served over two million people. Today, many of them were in line, just to catch a bite to eat.
“Most of the people who are in this line at the moment were our loyal customers and we appreciate them. I don’t know what we would do without people,” said the chef Tyson.
Sweet potatoes regularly, Deborah Street, was one of those people in line.
“It’s worth waiting, she knows how to cook!” Streeter said as he laughed.

What she will miss most at her favorite restaurant is that it was a place for her and her girls. Oh! And that the food is delicious, “it is seasoned exactly,” Streeter said.
She said the food was good for her taste buds, but also my “heart”, Streeter said, laughing again.
Tyson said she was upset by the closure of her Joiner restaurant, but said they couldn’t serve a better community, Winston-Salem hugged us.
Jeff Bacon, the owner of another Winston-Salem restaurant, six hundred °, sounds this claim, “this community would not be, especially the community of hospitality, but the larger Winston-Salem community would not be what it is today Restaurant and these people. ”
Bacon is also the Vice President of Providence culinary training in the second harvest Food Bank, also in Winston-Salem.
He and the people of sweet potatoes have worked together to help build and create chefs for nearly 20 years.
He, along with the rest of the community, know that this is not goodbye, but I will see you later, “I know we have not heard the last of them,” Bacon said.
