UW extension to host the annual farms and ranch Days of County Fremont 5-6 – North AG Network

In a tradition, which covers more than four decades, the 41-year days of the Farm and the Ranch of Fremont County will be held on Wednesday-Fourth, February 5-6, at the River County Fair.

This year’s event boasts more than 25 educational presentations on topics ranging from invasive weeds and restoration of fire to federal grazing permits and conflict mediation.

“What distinguishes the days of the farm and the ranch is that there are so many different sessions, so many different things happen at once. This is definitely a rooted tradition here, “says Chance Marshall, a teacher of expansion of Fremont County.

The sessions start at 9am and end at 2:45 pm free lunch, funded by sponsors and prepared by the livestock of Fremont County, will be provided with both days.

Orators include experts from Fremont County Weed and Pest District, the Wyoming Agriculture Department, the Association of Americans of America, the Wave Producers and Wyoming Vetaro Producers, as well as the UW extensions faculty.

On Wednesday morning, several Riverton FFA members will be introduced to “AG problems today”. Other speakers will deal with Palmer Amaranth in Wyoming, Agricultural Leasing, Agricultural Marketing, Motoring, Cattle Production, Choosing a Variety of Alfalfa, Federal Pasha Permits, Mental Health and others. At noon, James Nigren of Farm Credit Services of America will provide an update to legislative issues.

Thursday presentations cover risk management, lending and insurance of AG, invasive weeds, fire restoration, new technologies in the production of sheep, local foods, conflict management and animal disease monitoring. At noon, UW Rob Zigler extension specialist will discuss the prospects for the cattle and sheep market.

In order to seek to obtain or renew their private pesticide applicator licenses, a four AM-12: 45 PM program will be offered to bring an ID card issued by the Government and attend the four sessions to apply to apply for a license for a private applicator.
