Garland Eugene Larden – Greybullstandard

September 28, 1943 – January 24, 2025

The 81 -year -old Garland Eugene Lord died on January 24, 2025, calmly at his home, surrounded by his wife Mary, his family and friends. Garland has been fighting a long battle against COPD and pneumonia for nearly 10 years.

Garland was born on September 28, 1943 in Iowa City, Iowa, Dorty and Herman Eugene Lair. Garland attends a school in Woodward, Iowa, where she met the love of her life, Mary Aguns Kristenon. Garland joined the army in July 1961, attending a major FT training. Knox, Kiev, and later sent to Germany as a track mechanic. After leaving the army, he asked Maria to marry him. They married on November 7, 1964. During their 60 -year marriage, they lived in several places in Iowa, where Garland was part of the local police and fire services in Woodward, Iowa. Later, he took work with Oscar Mayer outside Perry, Iowa. During this time, Garland and Mary had three incredible sons, Mike, Troy and Travis.

In the summer of 1976, Garland and Mary and boys took a vacation in the beautiful state of Wyoming; They fell in love with the state and lived there until the summer of 1977. Garland began working for Gordan Sykes of Sykes Construction in the pool, Wyo., For several years and later worked for Glen Hopkin in the light torch of the torch and Lamax CONSTRUCTION As the operator and the truck driver, they combined for over 20 years before returning to Perry, Iowa to help take care of aging parents. While in Iowa, Garland worked at a chicken hatching facility where he confiscated a baby chicken for his granddaughter to raise, then as a repairman for the maintenance facility where he liked to work with children with special needs and drove a dump truck for a local performer S

In 2018, they then moved back to Wyoming to retire to Grabul, where he was known as the man who drives his cadilak “mower to ride the grass” around the city, spending time to stop and visit with anyone , who will give him an ear. It may have taken him 30 minutes to pass through the city to the grocery store for a gallon milk, but he did it and loved every minute of it. In his spare time, you can find it on the fishing on the Big Horn River for catfish or go to meet in the sunshine tank to catch a few trout for dinner. He loved outdoors; If you had the opportunity to hear stories, he would talk about his grandchildren and trips they made to stay with him. If you are really lucky, he will tell you about his fishing trips and hunting trips with his three sons.

Garland survived his incredible wife of 60 years, Mary Lord; His sons, Mike Lord (Andrea) from Grebul, Wyo., Troy Lair (Tina) by Larami, Wyo, and Travis Lyir (Monik) by Manava, Wison; Granddaughter Bryana Laard from Grebul, Weyo. Laird Peters (Jerry) from Perry, Iowa and Brother Gordan Laur (Ronda) by Perry Iowa and several nephews and nephews.

Garland is preceded by death by his parents, three brothers, Gail, Gary and Alan and grandson Brendon Laard.

The services will be held on a later date when the weather is more warm and the roads are better for safe trips when we can all come together for a holiday of life.
