Wisconsin fishermen saved after pickup sinks in St. Croa River – St. Paul Pioner Press

Two ice fishermen from Hudson, Wiscons, were rescued on Monday night after their Chevrolet Chevrolet pickup died in 2009 sank into the St. Cross River near Alan S. King in Oak Park Heats.

Men, aged 23 and 24, were able to leave the truck before he sinks around 9:20, according to a report by the Baport Police Department. None of the men was injured or entered into the water, police said.

The men told the police that during the bigger part of the day they were fishing on the ice on the St. Croas River and were on the return to the boat of the Ministry of Natural Resources in Minnesota under the bridge of the St. Croas River when the incident happened.

“(He) said he had left on the left coastline of the river, trying to avoid other ice on the ice on the river when he realized it was too close to the shore and without knowing that there was open water near the factory of King, “the police report. “They both advised that they heard the ice crack and make noises that didn’t sound well, so the two came out of the truck just before the truck entered the water.”

The owner of the truck was advised to contact a company to restore and remove the truck from the river “as it was completely submerged in approximately 9-15 feet of water,” the report said.

Chief Jay Jackson said the truck owner told one of his employees on Wednesday that he would work on the truck from the water on Friday.
