Tom Brady has a finger in many sports pies. As rumors are spinning that the legendary NFL player will increase his share – and possibly influence – in Las Vegas Raiders, we have decided to look at one of the other investments that Brady has made in recent years can be interesting. He, of course, has invested in the WNBA team in Las Vegas, but one of his most intriguing moves is in Birmingham City FC, a historical English football club, but the one who has not tasted sustainable success in the modern era. Brady hopes to change this, just as she hopes to change Raiders’ wealth.
Birmingham’s investments in Brady began in 2023. He took a share of minorities at the club, but the important thing is that he also took on the role of chairman of the Advisory Board. At that time, Birmingham was moored in the EFL championship, the second level of English football. The aim is to establish it in the upper level of the Premier League. Birmingham played at the highest level in the past (the last time was the 2010-2011 season), but the team has been in the championship and has been fighting since then.
Birmingham in early problems
You can appreciate that there was a lot of excitement when Brady became part of the property setting in the summer of 2023. Birmingham is the second largest city of the United Kingdom, but is more parachial than cosmopolitan. The presence of one of the largest athletes in history became the city was quite a spectacle. Brady and his co -investors promised big things about the team, but in reality, things couldn’t get worse in the first season. Birmingham suffered another one in the third level of England, Efl League One.
Still, everything is not lost. Birmingham’s plan shows that it may be better to break eggs to make an omelette. By that we are in mind that he may have done the project a little in the long run to suffer this fall and may be beneficial for the team’s prospects. Birmingham is a million miles away from being a caliber team in the Premier League, just as a view of Super Bowl’s odds will tell you that Las Vegas has a lot of work before becoming a playoff. Still, transforming a team is more than what is happening on the pitch and this is a lesson here.
Changes in Coaching and Executive Roles
Of course, we know that Raiders’s hierarchy is looking for a new chief coach. Birmingham City has had six (six!) Since Brady joined in 2023. We turned on temporary major coaches at the time, so it wasn’t as bad as it seemed. However, the point is that the Blue (as the locals call the team) had to settle on the right person for the work. The club seems to have found that in the current head coach Chris Davis.
Beyond the coaching setting, Birmingham is restructured in all aspects of the club’s operations. And this is also important as a lesson. Raiders remains an organization in a state of flow. Part of this is natural, and even moving to Las Vegas it took time to settle. But the ambition for the team must go beyond the competition next year or the year thereafter. Birmingham applies long -term structures to ensure that the team is competitive in ten years. Fans know this because they were not very worried about the club’s disgrace at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Of course, there is no magic wand and we have to remind everyone that Tom Brady is not the only decision -making in Raiders or Birmingham City. Still, his consultancy and leadership apparently pointing to sustainable success, like him and Bill Belikik for the best of two decades at New England Patriots.
After all, the question is. Just like Birmingham City fans, Raiders fans are naturally excited that a big name like Brady is getting involved in their team. Still, it’s more than a name. Brady and his investment partners want to push a sustainable and lengthy model of success. He would like to see that Raiders compete during the NFL 2025 season and everyone does it. However, we suspect that Brady and his partners also look at the long -term and may be more excited for fans.
