Richard "Dick" Paul Gilbert, 86, Howoril – North now

Howardville – Richard Dick Paul Gilbert, senior, 86 -year -old by Howoril Road, died on January 27, 2025 at his home after a brief battle with dementia.
A private family memorial will be held in the spring.

Memorial contributions can be made at the Pierrepont Volunteer Fire Service or in the Canton fire service.

Born December 15, 1938 in Syracuse New York, he is the son of the late Percy Warner Gilbert and Virgina (Reese) Gilbert and graduated from the Nottingham high school in Syracuse.

In August 1959, he married Dorothy Anne McIntyre in Syracuse.
He enrolled in the National Guard of the Air Force in 1957, serving the Hancock Air Base and also in France for 9 months and was honored in 1962.

Dick was a sales representative and leader of Wonder Bread in Syracuse and later in Potsdam New York.

In addition to his wife Dorothy of Pierpont, he survived by son Richard Paul (Gabby Brown) Gilbert, junior from Bernhards Bay New York; Three daughters Susan (Jeff) Kan of Howel, Michigan, Janice (Dave) Bansek of Anaheim California and Patty (Brian) Leach of Pennellville Ny; One brother John W. (Charlin) Gilbert of Booneville Ny; 10 grandchildren and 7 great -grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by grandson Justin Gilbert.
Dick enjoyed valuable time with his family and friends at the Seventh Lake Family Camp, Inlet Ny. He was a finished carpenter and also very mechanically inclined, repairing small engines and appliances.
