The chief police officer Raymo Hawkins has died due to illness, the department says.
Winston-Salem, NC-Police Department of Winston-Salem (WSPD) mourns the loss of one of their own.
Chief police officer, Rivnona Teresa Hawkins, died because of a fight with a critical illness over the weekend, the department said.
Hawkins serves in the 22 -year department. They describe it as a kind soul, a true state official and a beloved member of the department, the city and its family.
“We honor her memory and we will continue to carry her spirit with ourselves every day,” the department said.
Hawkins founded the criminal criminal officer program in the department. It has led the PAW Patrol program to WSPD, promoting a unique connection between law enforcement and children. Her commitment to build trust and understanding has expanded over the years of her management with the Civic Police Academy, helping countless members of the Community to see the heart of WSPD.
