Black Sabbath fans in Birmingham call for a lasting memory of the Aston group.

This comes after the Birmingham City Council voted to worship every member “Freedom of the City” on Tuesday (January 28).

City Freeman’s honorary title is awarded to people in recognition of their service in the city and is one of the most traditional ceremonies in the country.

What legacy do Black Sabbath fans want?

Although the honor, Birmingham campaigns want to see more.

The Save Station Street campaign wants to see Station Street in Birmingham, restored to its former fame.

Their focus is on the re -opening of the “crown”, blues and heavy metal bar, where the Black Sabbath often played its music.

Jes Collins is one of their campaigns and told us why Station Street is significant:

“46 million people cross this street every day and you would not know the incredible story that is residing on this street.

“Let’s open the pub. The scene is still there. The original dance channel is still there.

“It belongs to the people of Birmingham. We can attract people from all over the world to live it,” he said.
