There are times when clichés such as “mandatory win” and “necessarily” can be too used, incorrectly placed or leveled inaccurate. This was not the case on Tuesday night at the Stegeman Colosseum in Athens, Georgia. Don’t be fooled, the Georgia basketball had to have this one.
Generally speaking, every game is a must, especially in a deep and racing second, where the victories are increasingly difficult to come from these days. For Mike White and his Bulldogs in Georgia, the Tuesday evening victory 71-60 over South Carolina Gamecocks unequivocally qualified as a mandatory profit.
Georgia (15-6, 3-5 seconds) was riding a losing series of four games after being blown by Florida over the weekend. But this four skid matches are over as the UGA is improving to 12-1 at home this season, while South Carolina (10-11, 0-8 sec) now expands its loss to eight games.
