El Reno – The match of the Carl Albert’s Basketball Team against El Reno went as well as he could hope when the Titans headed for the fourth quarter.
Karl Albert held a nine -point lead over the 5A class state champion, as Jr. Audrey Plunket had 13 points.
But Reagan Bugaj turned it when El Reno returned to the floor.
The senior became hot, nailing 3-indicators and wishing the Indians back at a striking distance. Bugaj eventually hit four shots behind the rainbow in a quarter and had 14 points.
However, this was not enough.
Karl Albert did enough down the section to seal his biggest victory for the season.
Karl Albert stayed to win 52-48 times over El Reno in a game on Tuesday night, which had great consequences in the district race 5A-1 for the title.
Plunkett finished with 19 points, while Junior Jakary Brown had 13 and the sophomore Kynlee Sutton added seven.
“We were always there to pick up each other and we knew it would be a key factor in the whole game – not to go into our heads and just continue to play as a team, not separately,” Plovket said.
Karl Albert led 22-16 at the half and 38-29 at the end of the third.
Bugai, who finished with 21 points, continued the tear afterwards to adjust a close finish.
She struck 3-indicated by 15.3 seconds to cut Karl Albert’s lead up to 50-48 before Plunket made 1 of 2 free throws.
El Reno received the ball back, but senior Emari Elizodo missed a 3-pointer who would tie it before Plunket hit another free throw to seal the victory.
“I thought we were appreciating basketball,” said Carl Albert Kyle Richie coach. “We stopped that we needed. We made the free throws at the end. I’m really proud of this basketball team. ”
Karl Albert is already a total of 17-1 and 8-0 in the regional game, while El Renault is 14-2 and 7-1.
Karl Albert will host El Renault in his regular finale of the season on February 18th.
“They come to our place in about three weeks, so you can’t get too high and you can’t get too low,” Ritchie said.

El Reno beat the Titans 71-66 in a great match that was close all night.
Senior Jonathan Reed played a huge role in the victory of El Renault as he led the team with 31 points. The associate Trevis also had a solid game, ending with 16 points.
With the victory, El Reno improved to 16-1 as a whole and 8-0 and district 5A-1. The Indians are the first in the district, while Carl Albert (12-5, 7-1) is second.
“They were good,” Reed told Carl Albert. “Better than we thought, for sure. We just had to be sure we were playing them hard and we just played our game. “
