The Border Patrol agent in Vermont was killed after a migrant movement stopped, turned deadly near the northern border, sources said.
The officer was shot dead on Interstate 91 near Coventry around 3:15 pm on Monday.
Law enforcement sources told the publication that the border agent had been working for 13 years.
At least two suspects were in the car that was drawn and at least one of them was dead.
The shooter’s immigration status was unclear.
The murder of the border patrol agent came when President Trump swore in promises to abandon illegal immigration and strengthen the border security.
