One person is in custody following a SWAT call to downtown Lubbock Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Anti-Gang Unit was trying to locate and arrest Domingo Ray Rodriguez, 33, for an outstanding warrant for assault on a family member with a prior conviction and tampering with and fabricating evidence on purpose.
Arresting officers found Rodriguez near 49th Street and Joliet Avenue around 3:50 p.m., when Rodriguez entered the residence and refused to come out.
This prompted officers to initiate barricaded subject protocols and contacted the LCSO SWAT team.
Officers were able to take Rodriguez into custody around 5:30 p.m. and transported him to the Lubbock County Detention Center. His bond was set at $60,000 for the two previous charges, according to LCDC records, with two additional charges of assaulting police and a drug possession charge
