The Catholic Diocese of Wilmington has released a new, refreshed website on its familiar web address cdow.org.
“We are glad to announce the updated website,” said Bob Krebs, Director of Communications for the Diocese. “We have been working with the company, a diocese for many months and we are very pleased with the warm, but at the same time, a modern look on the site.
“Colors, symbols and other design elements are intended to capture the feeling of our diocese, which moves from Pennsylvania north to Virginia to the south and from Chesapik Bay to the Atlantic Ocean.”
The original site, which debuted in 2000, has been updated about six times in the last 24 years and has historically received between 35,000 and 40,000 unique visitors a month, Krebs said.
“For more than 65 years, the diocese has been working to help Catholic parishes and dioceses communicate better,” says Ryan Hoch, a diocesan digital manager.
“In accordance with this mission, we were excited to have the opportunity to create a new presence on the Wilmington Diocese network. We have designed the new website to reflect the uniqueness and charisma of the diocese. We hope that the Catholic community of Delaware and the east coast of Maryland find this new online presence of sources and edifying, and enjoy using the site as much as we at Deoces we were glad to create it. “
Visitors to the site will first see a short video, which includes scenes from the November 2024 Eucharistic Congress at Ocean City, Maryland, as well as scenes emphasizing some of the diocese ministries. In addition, the homepage has information about the diocese and bishop, upcoming events and events, dialogue news, podcasts, animals and videos, as well as easy access to the many diocese ministries.
The website also includes maps to help visitors find parishes, schools and opportunities for working in the diocese.
The Catholic Diocese of Wilmington was established in 1868 and included 56 parishes, 18 missions and 27 schools serving Delaware and nine counties on the east coast of Maryland. The diocese information is available at www.cdow.org.
