Las Vegas, Nev. (Fox5) – Las Vegas police shared new details and video, showing the moment when a police officer did not shoot a man fighting a woman.
The officials said this happened near Boulder City High School on Friday, January 24, with the participation of an officer outside the duty and his wife outside their home.
LVMPD said around 9:16 am, Boulder City police received a 911 call with an open line where the battle could be heard in the background. Then the female voice explained that her husband was in the front yard of their home, armed with a gun.
The shots were fired shortly after.
The duty officer was later identified as 48-year-old Cesar Ibara.
Police Ibara noticed a man, later identified as 45-year-old Jeremiah Boshar, attacked a woman. Ibara identified himself as a suspect as a police officer in Las Vegas.
The screaming and dog bark can be heard in CCTV. In another video from the subway, it can be seen that Boshard can hit a woman repeatedly.
The victim suffered cuts and bruises to her lips, swelling on her head and strangling is around her neck.
Police say Boshard followed the officer to the front yard where his wife and female were located.
Boshard stuck his head into a car, which prompted officer Ibara’s wife to take a firearm. Boshard began to suffocate Ibara, the officer was released and pulled out his firearm.
The couple is heard in the video on a mobile phone, shot by someone who walks by instructing Boshar to back away. Boshard advanced to the group and the couple fired their weapons.
LVMPD says two rounds have been fired.
According to police, if Boshar survives, he would have faced accusations related to the murder and battery of a protected person.
Officials say that while the Ibara officer was out of duty, he identified himself as law enforcement and acted so. This prompted the subway to investigate the incident as a police shooting.
This marks the first firing related to the 2025 officer.
