Minnesota Wilde get disappointing news about Caprosov injury – ESPN SIOUX FALLS

Kiril Kaprizov will miss at least four weeks as he will have surgery with a lower body injury, said Guerin’s general manager Bill Guerin Tuesday.

Gerin said that while the star wing of Wild is out of the composition, this is not an injury at the end of the season. He said Caprizov would be from week per week

A three-time 40 goal scorer, Kaprizov had what looked like the strongest season of his career. He entered the late December as a candidate for Hart Trophy for the most precious player in the league. He was tied up for the second in the NHL goals while tied to the fourth at the point, only seven points behind the center of Colorado’s avalanche Nathan Makinnon for the league’s lead.

Caprizov was then injured in the lower body, which protects it from the composition of the wild for one month. He returned on January 23, entering zero points at 16:39 of Ice Time at a 4-0 loss to the hockey club in Utah. Kaprizov will play two more matches, registering an assist in both competitions, while being an average of more than 21 minutes in each game before Grin’s announcement.

“I think he has handled the best he can,” said coach John Hines. “For his merit, he does everything the doctors ask. He is a work horse. He does everything he can do to prepare to play, even though he does not feel great, he certainly did it.”

The timeline provided suggests that the worst Caprizov can return to the wild will be in late February or early March. A detail that could minimize the absence of Caprizov is the 4-nations tournament, which holds February 12-20. The Wild has six matches before the international four -team tournament featuring Canada, Finland, Sweden and the United States.

The first game of Minnesota back from the 4 Nations with Fac-Off will be February 22nd.

“We just have to deal with the situation,” Gerin said. “This is not the end of the world. We will continue to play and continue to improve. When Cyril is healthy and all healed, he will return and be even better.”

Regardless of how many matches he misses Kaprizov, his absence is expected to play a significant role in the Wild candidacy to reach the playoffs after he missed the Administration in 2023-24. Previously, Wild had made the playoffs through four straight season, until he only missed the Administration once since the start of the 2012-13 campaign.

Minnesota (29-17-4) opened the season with start 20-6-4 to go 9-11 from December 14. Since then, they have had two separate losses of three games, but remain in hunting for a place for playoff.

The wild came to third in a fairly narrow competition in the Central Division, in which they are a point behind second place in Dallas Stars and two points in front of the avalanche, which occupy the first of the two wild card positions.
