Boise’s schools soothe parents, stress safety, and an inclusion in the background of fears of deportation – Aidaho News

The Boise School Quarter deals with increasing concerns about potential deportment actions, including undocumented students and their families.

In the light of recent changes, allowing US immigration and customs implementation to take action in schools, the area has confirmed its commitment to create a safe and inclusive environment for all students.

In an email to parents, district officers stressed that federal law guarantees every child access to public education, regardless of immigration status. They also confirmed that no information about students with ICE or other agencies was shared, in accordance with confidentiality laws.

Parents are encouraged to update emergency contact information and report any concern to school staff trained to support students during stressful times. The area emphasized the parents that Boise schools remain a safe space for learning and belonging.
