The victim’s 8-year-old grandson was with her and witnessed the shot and killed that his grandmother had been shot, detectives said.

Baton Rouge police department says a 14-year-old boy admitted to the murder. The teenager did not know the victim, police said.

Police said on Tuesday, they are still looking for at least two others who are thought to have been inside the stolen car when the shooting happened in the daylight of Planck Road earlier this month.

Police say the victim, 48-year-old Latasha Thomas, has returned from the placement of orders on January 19, when he noticed someone driving a stolen car with several passengers inside.

Thomas called 911 to announce that he was behind the stolen vehicle as he continued to follow it.

Police claim that the 14-year-old then left the stolen vehicle, entered the vehicle in which Thomas was in and shot it with cold blood.

Police claim that the teenager then came home and told his mother what had happened. She took the teenager to the first BRPD area where he turned, police said.

He was charged with second -degree murder and illegal use of weapons. Due to his age, his name was not released.

Later, the stolen vehicle was restored, but it was set on fire, detectives said.

“This tragedy left us not only to mourn the loss of a beautiful soul, but also to fight anger, confusion and deep sadness,” said the victim’s daughter, Beyonce Thomas. She said her mother “loves to spend her time cooking and creatively and to make arts and crafts. Let’s see her life taken in such a violent way is something we can’t put up with. “

The victim’s family has created an account at Gofundme to help funeral costs.

“We are asking for your support now,” said Beyonce Thomas on the Gofundme page. “As a family, we want to give Tasha the right home that deserves, but the unexpected cost of funeral arrangements were huge. Even if you can’t donate anything at this point, please keep your family and her friends in your prayers. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us take care of it as we prepare to say goodbye. “
