Accused of fornication is made to wear garlands of shoes. 9 years later, murder

The accused said that he could not leave his house due to shame

Moradabad:

A man in Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh has been arrested for allegedly murdering a man who made him wear a shoe garland nine years ago, police said. The accused, Manveer, said the victim, Ghanshyam Saini, “wrongly” accused him of abusing his niece and made him wear a garland of shoes.

During interrogation, he told the police that Ghanshyam had called a meeting of the community members at his house and framed him as guilty.

“He then hit me with shoes and slippers and insulted me,” Manvier claimed.

“After that incident, I couldn’t leave the house because of shame and everyone was making fun of me,” he said.

Manveer said he eventually left his village Pakwara and went to Rajasthan and started working as a truck driver.

“But whenever I returned to my home, the people of the locality used to make fun of me. Whenever my relatives came, Ghanshyam Saini and the local people used to tell them about my insult,” he told the cops.

The accused also claimed that he was not getting married because of the accusation.

“I had a lot of hatred for Ghanshyam in my mind and I kept thinking to take revenge,” he said.

Manveer then found Mr Saini alone near a field and attacked him with a knife on October 16.

“I first attacked Ghanshyam’s neck with the knife and then continued to attack his face, arms and shoulders until he died. I did not even give Ghanshyam a chance to scream,” he said during questioning.

He said that he did not run away after the murder because he was sure that no one would think of revenge for “such an old incident” and that no one would suspect him.

“That’s why I went to a friend who lived nearby,” he said.

However, he later found out that the police were looking for him and was caught when he was trying to flee to Rajasthan.
