(WKBN) – The Geological Survey of the United States (USGS) has confirmed that an earthquake influenced parts of Ohio early Tuesday morning. The earthquake happened at 1 mile southeast of Renault, Ohio, along the Ohio River bordering Western Virginia.
The earthquake had a magnitude of 2.2 and occurred at a depth of 3 miles in the ground. Earthquakes of this magnitude are barely detected by humans, so no injuries or damage has occurred. While weak earthquakes are common in this area, the valley is one of the places at risk of a harmful earthquake in the United States, according to USGS.
The places that are most freezing to damaging earthquakes in the United States include parts of the Mississippi River Valley, the West Bank, Alaska and Hawaii
