Guillermo Rigondeaux, set to return to Hialeah on February 26 – Cuba titles

The famous Cuban boxer Guillermo RigondeauxA former World Divisions Champion Super Bantam and Bantamweight is ready to return to the ring on February 26 in Hyalea, Florida. Known for its exceptional technique and defensive wisdom, Rigondeaux aims to prove that at the age of 44, it still has a lot to contribute to the boxing world.

Last November, Rigondeaux, a previous champion of both the World Boxing Association (WBA) and the World Boxing Organization (WBO), provided a knockout from the first round against Dominican fighter Danis Aguer. This triumph won him the International Boxing Box Box (WBC). The boot, scheduled for ten rounds with 118 pounds, heads the event, organized by Boxr Entertainment at the E11EVen club in the center of Miami, Florida.

A native of Santiago de Cuba and a two-time Olympic champion, Rigondo is often considered one of the most qualified boxers of his era. In 2009, he made the bold decision to defect from Cuba and move to the United States to continue a professional career. He made his debut in May of the same year, quickly drawing attention to his technical skills and agility in the ring.

Despite his achievements, Rigondeaux’s career was not without his tests. In March 2022, he suffered an internal incident that led to severe eye burns, threatening both his vision and in the future of boxing. However, after an impressive recovery, he returned to the ring in February 2023, knocking out Colombia Hesus Martinez in the first round during a match in Hyalea.

Demonstrating its competitive spirit and impatience to continue to challenge itself, Rigondeaux announced in April 2024. Plans to debut in Fill Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), box format with bare bones. At 43, he expressed confidence in his ability to become a champion in this discipline, emphasizing his determination and love for sports.
