HII is completing the purchase of the South Carolina production facility – Govcon Wire

HII has completed the acquisition of a metal manufacturer based in South Carolina as part of a boost to expand its shipping capacity.

The company said that on Monday the acquired facility would support the production of underwater modules with nuclear power and structures of aircraft carriers for US Navy programs.

Following the HII transaction, he started working on his Newport News Shipbuilding-Charleston South Carolina operation.

In December, HII agreed to acquire the assets and workforce of South Carolina -based complex metal manufacturer W International.

Following the announcement, more than 99 percent of the inherited staff have accepted offers to continue their work at South Carolina -based site, which is now working under Newport News shipbuilding.

HII said it intends to generate hundreds of additional jobs to meet the increased demand in its facility in Charleston.
