Yelp shuts down reviews of McDonald’s location where Trump served food – Fox 5 Las Vegas

FEASTERVILLE-TREVOSE, Pa. (Gray News) – The Pennsylvania McDonald’s restaurant where former President Donald Trump served fries on Sunday has temporarily shut down its Yelp reviews.

The Yelp page for the Feasterville-Trevose McDonald’s restaurant has disabled its comments and reviews section, prompting website visitors with an “unusual activity alert” that reads:

“This business has recently received increased public attention, which often means that people come to this page to post their thoughts on the news. While we do not take a position one way or the other when it comes to this incident, we have temporarily disabled the posting of content on this page while we work to investigate whether the content you see here reflects actual user experience and not recent events . Please note that we apply this same policy regardless of the business and regardless of the topic in question.”

Yelp said customers who want to leave a review based on a first-hand experience unrelated to Trump’s visit will be able to do so at a later date.

Trump’s visit to the McDonald’s restaurant quickly went viral, with photos and videos showing him manning the fry station and answering questions through the car window.

As reporters and aides looked on, a McDonald’s employee showed Trump how to dip baskets of fries in butter, salt them and spoon them into boxes.

Trump, a known fast food fan and noted germophobe, expressed amazement that he didn’t have to touch the fries with his hands.

“It actually takes a lot of experience to do it right and to do it quickly,” Trump said with a smile, tucking away his jacket and wearing an apron over his shirt and tie.

A large crowd lined the street outside the restaurant in Feasterville-Trevose, which is part of Bucks County, a key electoral district north of Philadelphia.

The restaurant itself was closed to the public because of Trump’s visit.

Trump did not directly answer a question about whether he might support raising the minimum wage after seeing McDonald’s workers in action, but said: “These people work hard. They are great.”

He added: “I just saw something … a process that is beautiful.”

Trump followed the visit with an impromptu press conference.
