Community leaders unite to deal with Winston -Salem youth violence – WXLV

Winston-Salem, Community NC leaders from all over the triad gathered at the Chitalishte of Mini Lee Davis Harris to discuss strategies to deal with violence, including risky teens and young adults.

Michel Boone, Capelan and Community Coordinator for Rally Up Winston-Salem emphasized the importance of building relationships with young people. “I have done many relationships in the community with young people because I am the person who is not afraid to embrace, encouragement,” Boone said.

After losing two members of the Community, in 2018 Rally Up Winston-Salem Ministries was founded by Corey D. Mcmann and Richard Singletary. Since its creation, non -profit purpose focuses on reducing violence through mentoring and communication.

“Being an early teacher, I understand how important it is to come to their world and make our world more attractive and more interesting,” Boone said.

The organization is looking for new members and is open to partnerships with other initiatives, believing that cooperation can enhance their impact. “We can have a greater impact and we can hit more territory if we get together,” Boone said.
