Two Texas men were sentenced to Federal Prison after robbing Wells Fargo ATM in Talahasi last year, according to a statement from the US prosecutor to the North District of Florida.

Charles Deon Matthew, 30, and the 31 -year -old Shair Trymaine Fields, both from Houston, Texas, will spend approximately four years in the federal prison, followed by three years of supervisory release.

Both men were ordered to pay $ 88,710 for Wells Fargo restitution and giving up $ 88,710 to the government, according to the statement.

The duo was driving from Houston, Texas, last July 19 to download the ATM machine caviar on Wells Fargo near Mahan Drive. The couple jumped a technician while he was fixing the machine.

“During the robbery, Matthews and the fields jumped out of a rental vehicle, wearing hoods and masks and rushed to the ATM equipment, which was back,” the statement said.

Matthews grabbed four cartridges before fleeing to Gainesville. That’s where they paid money for flights back to Houston.

The robbers used a calculated tactic that was used to execute such robberies across the country.

As reported by Fresh Take Florida, men accurately damage the ATM enough to get the machine to send an error message, but not enough to send a “panic” signal.

The error message receives a technician to correct the machine, and the thieves are hiding and waiting to jump to the worker while the money is available.

The Talahasi Police Department worked with the FBI during the initial investigation to help the Federal Agency identify the two men, according to the statement.

Investigators found that Matthews and Fields were in Detroit, Michigan, when another ATM technician was robbed in an ATM of Chase Bank a month later. They were not charged with the crime, according to a report from Fresh Take Florida.

With the help of the Houston FBI police station, he was able to find and arrest the two federal warriors.

“Community throughout the country are more favorable with these criminals behind bars,” said FBI Special Agent Jacksonville, who corresponds to Christine Rechler.

“This case illustrates the FBI’s dedication to the protection of communities from violence. We will continue to identify and violate violent actions through investigations managed by intelligence and close partnerships with state, local and tribal law enforcement authorities.”
