The Nigeria man accused of a South Carolina sexuality scheme dies – Cleveland 19 News

Columbia, SC (Woio) – a family whose child took his life after falling victim to a sexuality, is a step closer to justice.

The US prosecutor for South Carolina County, along with the FBI and a number of other employees, announced on Monday that he had a suspect in custody regarding the death of Gavin Guffy.

The message came more than two years after Guffy, a teenager from South Carolina, took his life.

FBI agents and Nigerian officials have extradited a 24-year-old man identified as Hasanbunhusin Aloor Loal, in South Carolina last week.

“Today, justice and accountability are taking a major step forward. I hope the message is clear. You use the Internet to operate children in our country, you will be held accountable. We will not allow predators aimed at our children to hide behind a keyboard or across the ocean, “said US lawyer for South Carolina, Adair Boro.

The allegations against Lawal include the operation of children and cybernity, along with interstate threats with the intention of blackmail.

The suspect is accused of introducing himself to a young woman on social media, convincing Gavin to send a compromise.

Authorities say he then blackmails and harasses the teenager, threatening to release these images unless Gavin sends him money.

Even after Gavin’s death in July 2022, agents say the man tired of blackmailing his loved ones.

Gavin Brandon’s father, a representative of South Carolina, works tirelessly to receive a law named after his son.

Gavin’s law, which came into force in 2023, is an effort to protect other children and their families from having to go through their pain.

“No one thought their child was in bad space, that this would happen. The crime is simply aimed at your deepest dark shame and children do not think there is a way out, “said Brandon Guffy.

Loal faces life imprisonment if he is convicted and he has to pay the family restitution.

Prosecutors say the suspect has sent messages to other minors.

He is coming in court next week.
