BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A Birmingham man was sentenced to 10 years in prison Wednesday, Oct. 23, on gun and drug charges.
Damon Deonte Wade, 24, of Birmingham, was sentenced to 120 months in prison after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, according to the US Department of Justice.
According to the plea agreement, Birmingham police officers stopped a vehicle for a tinted windshield on April 11, 2023. Police said Wade was driving that vehicle.
Officers said they saw drugs, drug paraphernalia and firearms. They searched the vehicle and said they found two digital scales, methamphetamine, fentanyl, a Mac-47, a Glock 10 mm extended magazine and an AK-47 magazine.
