Laredo, Texas (KGNS) – Larendo Fire Service is investigating a fire at the storage facility that caused thousands of dollars damage to those who used the units.
On Sunday, January 26, a facility with more than 50 units designed to be used as a safe storage space for personal belongings, has become tragic for dozens of people.
Objects such as furniture, electronics, family moments and even cars were damaged in the fire. LFD employees say they have received several incident calls at the star storage facility located on 2110 Quail Creek RD.
Several firefighters worked from 9:00 pm to 2:45 to suppress the flames and prevent them from spreading to any close business or homes.
Although the cause of the fire and the total amount of damage is still considered, Sebastian Valerro with LFD says his arson is investigating the case.
“We have no clients, but the investigation begins this morning. We have a fire service there at the scene, making sure everything is safe for the surrounding areas, “Valerro said.
He added that no one was inside the facility during the fire and no injuries were reported.
Today, January 27, some members of the community we talked to have said they wanted to check and see if their items were damaged. However, the officials leave no one inside until the scene is cleared.
In a separate article, we hear from some members of the community who used the units for storing some of the items that have lost in the flame.
