Rain chances tracking in places Monday – WCTV

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – After an abundance of sunshine over the weekend, we’re tracking heavy rain to start the new work week.

Tonight through Monday night

Another quiet evening ahead for Big Bend and South Georgia. We stay dry with partly cloudy to mostly clear skies. Low temperatures are cool, but not as cold as recent nights. We bottom out in the upper 30s and lower 40s.

A weak weather system will sweep across the area to start the new week, and that could bring some downpours. We don’t expect rain all day, but showers are looming with partly sunny skies. Temperatures reach highs in the mid-60s.

The odd shower may continue into Monday night but we become drier overnight. Lows fall into the mid and low 40s with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Areas of fog are possible in places.

Mostly dry and light for the middle of the week

Our warming trend is expected to continue into the middle of the week.

Temperatures on Tuesday will reach the mid and upper 60s with a mix of sun and clouds. Overnight lows settle into the mid 40s.

We’re tracking some lower 70s Wednesday as our mostly dry stretch continues. Overnight lows fall into the upper 40s and lower 50s.

Thursday looks mostly dry and weak. Highs climb into the 70s under a mix of sun and clouds. Lows are in the 40s.

Extended forecast

Looking ahead, we could see another weather system to end the work week and start the weekend.

On Friday, showers are looming in places, especially in the second half of the day. Highs hover in the low to mid-70s, and lows only drop into the mid-50s.

Showers look set to stick around to start the weekend. Highs reach the low and mid 70s on Saturday, while lows drop into the upper 40s.
