A 49-year-old man suspected of killing his girlfriend and dumping her body in a dumpster at their Costa Mesa home was behind bars Wednesday.
Daniel Allen Aldrich was arrested Tuesday night at a relative’s home in the 3700 block of El Lado Drive in Glendale, according to the Costa Mesa Police Department.
He is a suspect in the death of his girlfriend, Julie Ann Sanetra, 38, of Irvine.
According to police, investigators were dispatched to the 1900 block of Maple Avenue, west of the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway, just after 2:25 p.m. Tuesday in reference to the discovery of a dead woman in a trash can in the backyard of a residence.
Police said Aldrich was quickly identified as a suspect and tracked down in Glendale.
Although the suspect and victim “were in a relationship,” according to police, a possible motive for the killing was not immediately released.
It is not known how the woman died.
Anyone with information regarding the death was urged to contact Detective K. Moore at 714-754-4986.
