Since Thursday, the Elko Police Department has responded to five different alleged overdoses of drugs.
The culmination of a series of reports is that one man was found dead on Thursday night.
The 28 -year -old Caleb Rogers of Elko was found unknown in his motel room – the first emergency teams arrived and immediately tried to take life -saving measures, but were unsuccessful.
Criminologists have been called on the spot and an incident is currently underway.
Officials say it’s too early in the investigation to find out if the five overdoses are connected or not – but so many reports for such a short period of time suggest that it may be.
According to a preliminary investigation into detectives, fentanyl may have been a factor in overdose.
