CATS waives bus ticket fees for early voting, Election Day in Baton Rouge – WAFB

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Baton Rouge residents who need transportation to vote have two options to take the public bus to the polls for free.

According to the Capital Area Transit System (CATS), all fares will be waived on Saturday, October 26 and Tuesday, November 5 to help residents get to the polls after early voting and Election Day.

CATS chief executive Theo Richards says the company wants to make sure transport is not a barrier for anyone wanting to vote.

“By providing free rides, we hope to help our community get to the polls safely and easily,” Richards said.

According to CATS, passengers can board any CATS bus without paying a fare throughout the service area. Regular service schedules will be in effect. No special passes or vouchers required.

For more information on routes, timetables or other services visit The BR CATS website or contact the CATS customer service line at (225) 389-8282.
