A man accused of murder was accidentally left at the bus stop of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Greyhound, along with other prisoners who had to be released legally.
Advocate reported that the East Carrol Parish prison authorities had left Christopher Davis at Baton Rouge Greyhound Bus Station on Friday.
Davis was held at the East Carroll Retention Center on December 5, 2024 murder. Davis was claimed to have shot Deangre Duncan, 37 years old, after a dispute in a block 8800 on Edwin Rouge Street on December 10, 2022 S
WBRZ reports that Davis was transported to the parish prison in East Baton Rouge, according to district prosecutor Hilar Moore. Together with Davis, there were numerous prisoners who were released at the bus station. However, neither sheriff’s staff in East Baton Rouge, nor the District Prosecutor’s Office were aware of Davis’s transfer.
Davis is not scheduled for a court in East Baton Rouge until March 17. It is not clear why he had been moved two months before the date of the court, Moore said.
WBRZ talks to Davis’s family, which expressed his concern for their safety.
“We are worried about him because this is my son who would not worry about his children if he loves them?”, Said a family member.
Davis’s family did not know about his accidental release until the law enforcement agencies arrived at their residence to search for him, and they were confused about how this could happen.
“Why did you let him go out? Numerous agencies are searching for Davis, including the special group for US Marshal Fugitives, according to The Advocate.
