The policeman has minor injuries, but is expected to recover, according to the Winston-Seylem police station.
Winston-Malham, North Carolina, an employee of the Winston-Sale Police Department, has minor injuries after pursuing a vehicle on Sunday morning.
Around 9:10 on the morning of January 26, police in Winston-Sail respond to a signal of Old Lexington Road’s “violent mental crisis”.
According to police, the involved person – who was known to law enforcement agencies and suffering from cognitive disabilities – attacked a family member, stole a vehicle and escaped from the scene.
As the cops traveled to the scene, the person passed through the yards and in the opposite traffic. Police are beginning to pursue and twice tries to stop the car. The pursuit ended in the nearby parking lot.
The man escaped on foot, but was quickly captured by the police.
During the incident, an employee patrol car was overturned in a crash. Police have confirmed that the police officer has suffered minor injuries but is expected to recover.
The person involved in the incident was transported to a hospital for a mental state examination.
The investigation is ongoing.
