Storm to bring rain, snow and strong winds to Southern California – NewsBreak

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA – A powerful low pressure system moving south from Canada will bring dramatic changes to Southern California’s weather, according to to the National Weather Service. The storm is expected to bring rain, mountain snow and gusty winds to Orange, San Diego, Riverside and San Bernardino counties through Tuesday, January 28.

Rainfall totals could reach over 2 inches on the mountain slopes, with lesser amounts of 0.75-1.2 inches in coastal and valley areas. Snow levels could fall as low as 3,300 feet in the San Bernardino Mountains, with accumulations of 12-18 inches above 6,000 feet.

Gusty winds, up to 55 mph in the deserts and 30 mph in the valleys, will accompany the storm. Dry and warmer weather is expected by the middle of the week.
