Ellen T. Chernusak (by father Brown) September 21, 1947. October 6, 2024 Ellen T. Chernusak, at 77, died on October 6, 2024. In Red Bluff, California, under the careful care of Lassen House Senior Living. Born on September 21, 1947 in Westwood, California, she is Gabriele S. Minky’s eldest child Brown and Richard A. Dick Brown. Ellen spends her childhood in mineral, California, a small mountain community, where her parents settled after her father’s service during World War II. Ellen’s upbringing in the forests and meadows of Northern California encourages her adventure spirit, affinity for nature, constant curiosity and love for books and reading for life. She shares these features generously with her family and friends. Ellen was a student at Mercy High School in Red Bluff, California, and received a bachelor’s degree from California University in Davis, as well as a lifelong training certificate from State University in Chico and Master’s Degree in Library University of State University in Bois S After a meeting at the University of California in Davis, Ellen marry Daryl Chernusak in December 1969. Together, they raised four children living in Davis, Palo Alto and Santa Rosa, California, before settling in Boisi, Idaho, in 1978. Ellen lives in Boisi for 40 years before returning to Mineral later in life. Ellen loved the simple pleasures of exploring historical landmarks, attending pink gardens, walking and reading a newspaper, as well as books on any topic. Her trips took her through the United States and Abroad to Europe and Australia, where her son Lucas lives. Throughout her life, she remained deeply committed to her family, a source of strength and wisdom to all who knew her. Ellen is remembered with her good heart, acute intelligence and courage to face injustice. Even when Alzheimer’s dementia marked her later years, her dignity and warmth endured, leaving a lasting imprint on the people around her. She survived her children, Emily Chernusak, Lucas Chernusak, Jessica Jenson and husband Joe Jenson and Andrea Chernusak; Her grandchildren, Amara, Grace, Ivan, Adeline, Heven and Willow; Her ex -husband Daryl Chernusak; And her sister Stephanie Dennis. She was preceded by her father’s death (1972) and her mother (2009); her sister Talena Brown (1972); And her brother Joseph “Sepi” Brown (2004). Ellen’s dust will be buried in the family parcel of the Westwood Cemetery in Plamaas County. The holiday of life will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the resort of Mill Creek near Mineral, California.
