Former Gamecock Munnerlyn captain appointed chief trainer at Julius Chambers High School – Garnet and Cocky

Captain Manerlin, formerly frank by South Carolina Gamecocks and NFL Cornerback, has been appointed Chief Football Coach at Julius Chambers High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. This opportunity allows him to instruct the young athletes and convey the discipline and skills he has acquired during his professional career.

During his term at the University of South Carolina from 2006 to 2008, Munnerlin had a significant impact on the football program. As a freshman in 2006, he played in 11 games, recording five seasons five games in two of them. In 2007, he served as a nickel specialist and a return, winning honors from all southeastern conferences (SEC). Raised to an initial corner in 2008, it continued to distinguish itself, in particular returning a kick 84 yards and a blocked goal in the 81 yard field against Kentucky.

After his collegial success, Munnerlin was selected by Carolina Pantheri in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL project. He enjoyed a 10-year career in NFL, including a stay with Minnesota Vikings and a return to the Panthers. During his professional journey, Munnerlin was known for his confidence, strength and leadership on the field.

Moving to Coaching, Munnerlin spent two seasons as a volunteer coach at Myers Park High School in Charlotte. His passion for the mentoring of young athletes and his desire to inspire discipline and structure in their lives made him accept the coaching position in the Chambers High School. He aims to use his experience to inspire and direct his players to success both on and outside the field.
