Selim Chirpanoglum, the mayor of Kahramankazan district, told The Associated Press that the attack on the company on the outskirts of the capital, Ankara, had abated, but could not provide further details.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya tweeted: “Unfortunately we have martyrs and injured people after the attack.”
It was not clear who was behind the attack. Kurdish militants, the so-called Islamic State group and left-wing extremists have carried out attacks in the country in the past.
The private television station NTV reported that a group of attackers arrived at the entrance of the complex in a taxi during a change of guard.
At least one of the attackers detonated a bomb, while others managed to enter the compound.
Helicopters were flying over the premises in the Kahramankazan district, the station reported.
TUSAS designs, manufactures and assembles civil and military aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles and other defense industrial and space systems.
Security camera footage of the attack, broadcast on television, showed a man in civilian clothes carrying a rucksack and holding an assault rifle.
At least one woman, also carrying an assault rifle, was among the attackers, according to the images.
Earlier, media reported that an explosion was heard in the complex, followed by gunfire.
