Kohl’s is planned to close more than two dozen stores in the United States.
On January 9, the retailer announced a series of “Real Estate Changes” for the New Year, including the future of several stores among more than 1150 seats across the country.
The merchant said 27 stores in Lower places will end by April 2025.
According to the press release, all store assistants were informed of the news and “proposed compensation package or the ability to apply to other open roles in Kohl’s” were proposed.
In addition to the closure of stores, the statement said that the Center for the Electronic Trade Execution of KOL in San Bernardino (EFC) will close at the end of the current leasing period, which is due to end in May 2025.
The location of San Bernardino has been working since 2010 and is one of 15 EFC and distribution centers across the country for Kohl’s.
The retailer said that “increased efficiency with new technological capabilities in the newer EFC facilities” and the extended capabilities to allow orders to be executed from the store places that allowed Kohl to execute orders without the California-based facility.

In December 2024, Party City employees were told that the company closed and at the end of February 2025, all places in the store would be closed. Macy also confirmed on January 9 that the retailer will close 66 stores as part of the current reorganization strategy.
