BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Authorities in Baton Rouge are searching for a man they say was mistakenly released from the East Carroll Detention Center.
According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, Christopher Davis was dropped off at the Baton Rouge Greyhound bus station on Friday, January 25th. Multiple agencies have been trying to find him ever since.
Davis was arrested in 2022. in connection with a shooting that killed 37-year-old Deandre Duncan. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail on charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.
Officials say Davis had been housed at East Carroll for several months and was not scheduled to return to EBR until his next court date on March 17.
Authorities say they are still trying to figure out why Davis was released.
