BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPRUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured a teenager on Sunday, October 20th.
Officers responded around 8:52 p.m. to the 4400 block of Mohican-Prescott Crossover and began an investigation after a 17-year-old female was shot in a carpool vehicle, BRPD said.
Investigators said she was in the vehicle with a woman and a 4-year-old child when a car pulled up behind them and shots were fired. The driver stopped for police assistance and EMS personnel arrived and transported the patient to a hospital, according to BRPD.
Investigators are still looking for a suspect and a motive for the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Violent Crimes Unit at 225-389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at 225-344-7867.
