Durham police say three men are facing charges after a quantity of drugs was discovered during a traffic stop in Oshawa.
On Sunday, October 20, at approximately 4:30 a.m., members of the Central West Division of Proactive Patrol initiated a traffic stop in the area of Olive Avenue and Cadillac Avenue South. As officers approached, the male driver walked away from the vehicle. The man refused to identify himself and ran away from the police.
Officers began a short chase before taking the man into custody. Two other men remained in the vehicle. Officers observed signs of cannabis use in the vehicle, which was searched under the Cannabis Control Act. During the search, a gun holster, drugs and over 1,990 Dilaudid pills were found.
Two men, both 18 years old from Oshawa, and a 21 year old man from Oakville were charged and all were held pending a bail hearing. Names and further details can be found at www.drps.ca.
