MPs warn the public about fraudulent text messages – WAFB

West Baton Rouge Parish, La. (WAFB) – MPs warn people about fraudulent text messages that started popping up on smart phones.

According to West Batton Rouge’s Sheriff’s office, text messages tell people that their vehicles have an unpaid road fee or something.

MEPs said fraudulent messages were labeled as “Ezdrivema” and claim that they were helping you pay a road taxi bill and avoid delay fees.

Messages are not legitimate and clicking them can lead to theft of your identity.

According to WBRSO, there is a legitimate Ezdrivema website. However, the website will not require payments through a text message.

West Baton Rouge parish sheriff Jeff Bergeron calls for people not to click on text messages and warn others about messages.
